In the nearest future, universities will set the trends and standards of life, as well as the level of and approaches to the social culture. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement, meeting the students and the faculty of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University.
"Future belongs to the universities which should support the economy of knowledge and determine the vectors of state and social development," he stressed.
The Head of the Parliament believes that modern information opportunities and access to the cutting-edge information media eliminates division of the universities into metropolitan and provincial ones. He stressed that technical capacities is another means of competition between the universities.
V.Lytvyn expressed his view on the new rules of co-existence in line with modern challenges. In this respect, he mentioned development of new rules both in the small communicates, and globally.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his opinion concerning food supply in the world. V.Lytvyn stated that agrarian universities should provide in-depth knowledge, so that students could run agrarian business successfully. He stressed that the level of graduates´ knowledge should be competitive in Ukrainian as well as foreign labour markets.
